Promote a trial run project for the conservation of water through the use of “EM” (efficient microorganisms) in the water and organic waste disposal systems.
Provide follow-up to the analysis and water quality studies provided by AyA.
Observation and inspection of the beaches and rivers regarding their cleanliness.
Coordination of the usage of grey water and black water in conjunction with MINAE, Health Ministry, Cobano Municipality.

Routine cleanings of beaches and streets
Maintenance of trash recepticles
With the help of the municipality, coordinate the adequate management of solid waste for the area.
Request permission from IDA (Instituto de Desarollo y Agricultura) to use a piece of land for starting a recycling center.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & EDUCATION IN COORDINATION WITH CABO BLANCO NATIONAL PARK
Support environmental educational lectures at schools
Coordinate workshops about recycling at school and also for adults
Installation of garbage receptacles for recycling at schools with the support of “Mision Plantea”

PLACING SIGNAGE AT HIGH-TRAFFIC LOCATIONS AROUND THE TOWN

Sign fabrication in coordination with the National Park of Cabo Blanco

COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION
Building and designing the environmental committee webpage
Keeping the webpage updated with information concerning environmental laws, complaints, projects, and achievements.
Providing information about “Bandera Azul” meetings
Providing an informational space within the “Peninsula de Nicoya” guidebook and other large media publications.
BEAUTIFICATION OF THE BEACHES
In coordination with the municipality of Cobano, design a trial project for the maintenance and beautification of beaches through the planting of trees that limit the passage of vehicles.
Revision of the Coastal Regulatory Plan for Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, and Manzanillo to evaluate the environmental criteria proposed.
Achievements

Beautifying the walls and buildings of the school of Mal Pais, the social security medical clinic ADVISE of Santa Teresa, and the communal center through the painting of murals.
Designing, Placing, and Maintaining Signs for: Beach Protection, Prohibiting the extraction of materials from the Beaches, Prohibiting Vehicles on Beaches, & Prohibiting Littering.
Creation and placing of the town's signs marking the recommended speed limit at 25 mph. |
